So when you say lower droop you mean decrease it by turning in the screws?

So since I have a bumpy track I should use the lower row of shock moutning holes and run max droop right?

thanks for the advice any more woudl be great.

sorry about that,

ya when you turn in the drop screws, you lower your ride hight.

For a ruff track I use full droop, and as much uptravel as possible.

and mount the shocks to the upper holes if possible to have max uptravel

You can ask wheelnut, our track in Calgary is probly one of the ruffest going

lol.....

Ok then so if JB set up was # 2 on the rear tower then I want to go to #7? I say this since they would be more inclined resulting is softer dampening to help balance the fact I want to try the softer springs. I figure making them more vertical will increase the dampening and with softer springs that would slow the shocks down too much.

For the front shocks I guess I will leave them at the #6 hole per JB's set up.

I figure the idea to handle the jumps is to have good dampening so they will pack up so the thicker 700F and 600R oils will do this. However changing my dark blues to light blues will help with the rough stuff while the shocks packign up will fari well on the jumps.

With a little preload to get arms just above level I willr aise ride height as well and that should help from what I can see.

Other then that I was going to turn by 2deg bushins upside down and get more caster and run more front kick up. I was going to decrease rear anti squat from the max I currently have to 3deg or 2deg.

Also how about my diffs, I have 755 and am thinking of 553 what woudl I notice a change in by doign this?

That sound good or you have some other good ideas?

PS why in the book are the amounts of rear antisquat different then on the set up sheets? Basically when I sady 3deg its using the "0" bushing or the "1" faced down.

OK now that I am all done my next question is about the springs. I put the light blues on but I have to preload the rears with a total of 13 at the spacers to get the ride height to just above level.

Is this normal or should I be using the dark blues in the rear or go back to using them all around?

Any spring is normal,

What you want to do is compliment the damping, I mean pick the spring tension that best suits your damping and shock oil.

I run the light blues on my EC, as long as your not constantly bottoming out on stuff then softer spring/lighter oil is always better IMHO.

With one hitch,

A heavier oil will stay consistant longer in hot conditions, just use a larger damping bushing say 1.5x4 instead of 1.3

hahahah

Clear as mudd yet?

I think I am going to go back to the dark blues since I think the light blues are pretty darn soft for my track. I fear that its going to squat real bad under power and get kicked up by the rough parts or small rocks. That and coming off the jumps wont be so pretty if its too soft.

From the 2 times I ran it with the dark blues it didnt bounce from what I noticed and did very well I think it was more the diffs that were too thick.

Now my big issue is wasting 1/2 bottle of oil on 1 shock that I cant see to get right. It either very slightly pushes back out or draws back in after I bleed them.

Is there something I am not getting here? I didnt have this many problems during the build but I guess I didnt do it right since I noticed when I removed the springs the shock rod moved on its own and that how I knew I bled them wrong.

Would 700/600 be too thick with 1.3 x 4 hole pistons and dark blues? I am all out of 500wt and I am going to have to use my other oils and hopefully get this right.

PS is it normal for the shock oil to be lightly colored and dirty looking so after only 3/4 gallon? It isnt bad and still has some clarity to it but not totally clean thats for sure.

All silicon oils in the diff, shocks will have that colour, its from the metal.

Its totaly normal.

As for the odd shock,

Make sure that the damping spacer has the flanged side pointing towards the bottom.

Also make sure where the spacer was attached to the little ring that you filled it smooth.
