I've had the opportunity over the past 2 weeks to look at the 2 new 1/12 cars on the market.
Whilst there are some refinements over current 1/12th technology, there is nothing reveluotionary in either design. The one with a combination of both T-bar and link configuratuions is interesting and certainly seems to handle well.
Unfortunatly niether of them have adopted a solution to ride height - both use inserts in the rear pod and spacers under the front wishbones to adjust the ride height...now if Xray adopted it's eccentric diff concept into a 1/12th car with some form of proactive front suspension it could clean up the 1/12th market - which happens to be the biggest growth area in formal RC Car racing at the moment.
My club hosts the first round of the UK 1/12th National Championship next weekend, it will be interesting to see how these new designs fair against the "traditional" 1/12th cars...should be fun!
