XRAY - Model racing cars

Hello, I just received my 2 new ACE DS 1015 servos in the mail. Which servo horns should I use? I was told the Futaba, but there is slop when I put it on. I turn the servo upside down and it falls off.

Well Amain told me futaba as well and its true since if you look at spare horns for the ace servo it says they work for futaba as well.

I bought a dynamite aluminum horn for futaba on my ace so I hope it fits.

i'm using the futaba horns on mine, they do fit a bit looser than on an actual futaba servo but it seems fine once tightened down. Haven't had any problems so far.

Man you are right. I just opened my new servo and futaba horn and I dont think I will be using that one. It is way too loose I think and I wont take the risk of stripped servo gear.

sold out but these are the direct replacements I was going to buy but for now I will do a bit of dremel work to take off one arm for the steering portion.

I wonder if its the dynamite brand or just not a good match for futaba based horns?

i would definitly make sure you get alum. horn at least on the steering because i just put those servos in my XT8 and it wasnt two runs until i stripped out the servo horn because those servos are so bad A$$ im very happy with mine

OK I will take that back.

I just went and played with it a bit and changed out the counter sunk type screw for a button head with the dynamite horn and one bolted on its very tight.

I think plastic horns are going to always fit tighter since the plastic can be slightly over sized for a tight fit to where the aluminum either have to be spot of or slightly under fit in order for them to mesh up.

Hey punkracer are you using the Futaba style aluminum horns on your ace servos?

I cant wait to use these since I have people talking all kinds of smack about them but know nothing other then the name Thunder Tiger. They never heard of Ace but I keep reading so many good things about them and Amain tech guys swear by them. I chose these over Hitec this time so I hope I will be happy.

i stripped the stock futaba steering horn this weekend after putting about 20-30 minutes of run time on my xt8 so i would not recommend using the kit supplied horn any more.
