XRAY - Model racing cars

Hey All,
I know many people are running full droop on both the truggy and the buggy, but I am concerned that this will put unecessary stress on the shock pistons. I have some droop dialed in right now but want to know what everyone else is doing.

Full Droop. This is off-road racing. I never understood why you would want to limit your down travel. We're not racing on smooth surfaces.

You should make sure the droop is limited by those set screws, not by the shocks. You don't want the arms and wheels to "hang" on the shocks, as this is known to destroy the whashers under the shock pistons (on the XT8 at least) and I can see how landings on the wrong side put alot of stress on the shock rodend too... better to have that force on the chassis.

Has anyone measured the shock length to determine droop settings??? This is how i did it on my 8ight (obviously turning in the droop screw reduces the shock length and vice versa). I have not been able to find anyone's droop "setting" aside from "limit the droop"

I intend to put 3 and or 4 mm thick washers in the bottom of my EC shocks, the droop screws are chewing the chassis up and I have always did that on my other brands, HObao and KYO, with never any trouble
and was reminded to do this by Chris Crews Xray factory driver

caution... I used orings once, big mistake, the orings broke and plugged up the shock piston holes during a main race
