tian - I followed the directions according to the manual when adjusting the belt. Can you take a picture of how you set up your box for the xt8, please?

This is how I did the setup for my xt8 with V-spec.

For the belt holder I used the middle hole of the lower ones. I also had to losen up the screws for the engines to adjust the belt.

I use the Ofna chrome top starter boxs with the 12V motor in it and that is the best starter box i have to say it is the best box I have ever owned byfar. The part # for the one without the power panel is OFN10250. The part # for the one with the power panel is OFN10253.

I am using the OFNA Truggy box. It is lightweigth and very powerful. I had the Mugen box before. I think both are the best available. I did notice the batterys seem to die faster on the truggy box but I dont know if there is any truth in this. Also the OFNA box takes a screwdriver to access the inside and it does seem to stick somes. I would probally buy a mugen box if I was to do over. The OFNA box does have some nice battery mounts.

tian - you know what is the item number for the kyosho starter box belt? The location of my S7 flywheel is located a bit forward than the starter wheel.. still touches it but dont know if it can make it.

Edit: hmm well, I think I found it... its 16.99USD + 7 USD from kyosho's shoptaron..... that is 1/3 the price of the whole starter box I bought from Amain..

I'm using the Thunder Tiger / Associated Starter Box for my XB8 and I'm pretty happy with it. It's a single 775 motor bell driven and I use a 12V gell cell. I prefer the single motor configuration; just less maintenance.

Have done my MX-M5 break-in, pretty tight engine, without any problem; plenty of power.

And in top of that it's small and looks good; I never liked the look of these ofna top chrome starter box.

But fitting a gel cell requires some shimming with spacers.
