Mike Battaile is on fire and I am so glad that he is pushing harder now then he ever has. The car was great and a lot of changes on my standard setup because Frosty and I got to work on stuff together quickly at the event. Hands down our cars handled the bumps and rollers better than any car there.
I ran into tuning issues and had to come off the stand to retune my motor. Unfortunately my planned pit guy got into a work related injury and had to stay home with some broken ribs, so I was not fully prepared. Frosty was setup with a temporary pit man as well and was losing close to 6 seconds per pit to Mike B, which obviously hendered his performance. We were really looking to take a win here, but it wasn't our time.
However Frosty and I were extremely ecstatic after the event because our cars were so good. Neither of us broke one part all weekend, about 2 gallons of fuel.
Main items to notice on setup changes
Rear Shocks - went from 1.4mm with 300 to 1.5mm with 400 (ate up the bumps a ton better)
Rear Diff - 1000 to 3000 (locked in rear more)
Inboard toe 1 degree and rear toe from 2.5 to 3 (more traction all around and forward bite)
Increased front shock preload from 5mm to 7mm and reduced rear from 5mm to 3mm. (this helped balance the transition of off power weight transfer to the nose and more predictable feeling)
Setup Sheet -
Frosty was running outer camber link hole on the caster blocks (2) and in the rear he was running the upper hole on the hub carrier and the inside lower hole on the tower (1).
