Hi,

I have having a bit of an issue with the setup of the throttle and braking on the EC.

First of all I am using the High Speed Steering servo that came with my Specktrum Radio and I upgraded my steeering servo when I bought the new buggy. Now as I currently have this set up by following the books advise the rods that control the brakes hit either the spur gear or the fuel tank when no in use. I have tried to adjust every way possible but with no luck, can someone help?

There are two holes in the servo arm and the brake arms thread into arms that are offset, so you will just have to play with the configuration until you get the desired result.

I'm sorry there is no blanket statement on how to mount them.

You can cut the rod down and/or bend it slightly at the end to help prevent it from hitting the fuel tank. Like Rocco said, you just have to play with it a little.

Also, any idea how I can measure the distance between the front sterring rods, its hard to get these exactly even.

If you decide to cut the ADJUSTMENT rods (what i did) only cut what you need to clear. if you cut to much you loose some threads in the sliders when the brakes are adjusted. so its a matter of cut and fit until you have it right, only taking a little off the end of the rod each time. dont cut to much at a time.

You can also play with the little end looped BRAKE CAM RODS. I have my front brake rod adjusted about 1/2mm inside (manual shows 1mm outside of the brake cam) of the front brake cam with plenty of material for the set screw to grab. this allowed the angle of the adjustment rod to move away from hitting the tank. The rear BRAKE CAM ROD is still set at 2mm outside of the rear brake cam.

It's a pain to figure out but it is important and well worth it. you will save your fuel tank mounting bushings as well as your brake cam bushings that are in the diff top plate. Hitting the tank with every throw will side load the plastic brake cam bushings and wear them faster, plus it just doesent look cool when the tank gets slapped/pushed over everytime you pull throttle.

I am a nut when it comes to getting these linkages right, I spent 1/2 a day just to make sure everything was perfect with nothing hitting or rubbing or just looking bad in general.
