When you do get it out don't use thread lock that will not let you get it out :shock:

Check out the June issuse of Xtreme RC, they have a really good atricle on how to build CVD's.

The set screw is either has thread lock on it or it may be rusted, you can either soak it in WD-40 or any other penetrating oil and if that doesn't work try heating the set screw and barrel with a lighter or mini blow torch as heat releases the thread lock.

I think the manual says to use thread lock. If you build them as per my previous post (not really my build) the pin should stay in even if the set screw comes out as per the shrink tubing. This will at least allow you to make it back to the pits with little damage and mabye not even the loss of any parts.
