XRAY - Model racing cars

My theory seems to be that the more oil you can get in there with the more holes in relation to surface area of the piston the more consistant the shock will be through a long race on a bumpy track.

This is why motocross shocks (that teams will spend tens of thousands of dollars on) have gotten bigger with more complex pistons/valving in them over the years...

ACTUALLY i have a new EC and i have noticed a problem of pressure building and collapsing my bladders ,,, i have to drain and refill and bleed off about every 5 tanks
my friend has the EC as well and we drilled his pistons for 4 hole and the problem went away....
Kinda makes ya think why did losi use a 6 hole piston ... on 15 or 16 mm bore?

You couldn't tell a difference in the cars?!?!

The first time my EC hit the track, it was better than my TQ almost instantaneously!!! It's so much smoother, and has a lot more steering and rear traction.


But as far as the shocks go, no need to reinvent the wheel, I just think we need to look to some other industry that's already engineered the almost perfect shock, MOTOCROSS!!! If we can learn anything about shocks and keeping them consistent and well dampened, we (as an industry probably) needs to look there...

actually the EC differences were totally apparent.... for me the car has a huge amount of steering , jumps like a plush couch , but was totally loose at first for me ... After putting 10 tanks on the car it seemed to calm down ... now i love love love it!!!!! my friend had the same problems ,, maybe just a mental thing , but they are both great cars now!!! i am glad i switched!

Yeah, the back end does feel a little looser, but it's very easy to control on power which lets your rip out of the corners.

This new car has SOOO much corner speed too!

OK, OK, You guys can stop rubbing it in any time now. We know its a great car!
