Hello guys,
I raced today with my XB8TQ on a new track that was build here and I had major problems with my rear end.
It was fishtailing through the straights big time and whenever I went on throttle the rear was very loose and was coming around.
The on throttle steering was very poor. There was no way I could drive the car.

The track was very slippery at some parts, that is where I had the major problems. Flat surface with doubles , tight corners and I guess pretty technical.
My current setup is this one:

I am using the 38T front overdrive and the 48T center diff gear.

What tires do you thing are suitable in this kind of track?

Some pics of the track:

What type of tires were you using? Also what type surface was the track? I noticed that you have alot of negative rear camber which could explain the unstable feeling coming out of the corner on-power. Bring your rear toe-in back to 3 or maybe even 2.5. You camber should be just at most at -3.

Those combination and probably the wrong tire selection could equate to your rear end being unstable at high speeds, coming into a corner, and accelerating out.

Hopefully others could chime in on my opinion. Awesome track by the way!

I'd get rid of the 38T front gear for starters. If its real slippery, I'd soften the car, springs, sway bars, shock oil, lighter rear diff oil. Hard to say on tyres, but I'd probably start with the good old Crimefighter.

Just remeber that 80% of your set up is tire selection so I also agree if you do not know where to start, then start with the crimefighters as they generally give good traction on most surfaces......

You can also try 1000 oil in the rear diff. This can also stabilise the rear end. Other things that come to my mind: Softer rear sway bar, softer shocks.

I forgot to mention that at the track I made some changes.
I used less caster by rotading the caster eccentric bushing with the two holes (-2 degrees), this helped whith the steering.
I used one size softer than stock rear sway bar and one size harder front sway bar.
I changed the the rear upper arm shock tower location to number 2, the rear lower shock position to #3, and used the white springs for the rear.
Used 500cps oil for the shocks and for camber 2 in the front and 3 in the rear.
None of these helped.

So do you thing I should first try the crimefighters and then make any other changes on the setup?
Which crimefighter should I order, M3, M2 or XTR?

I am thinking that the diff setup might not be suitable for this track.

Is this an EU ot US style track?

Hello Sllo,

Have You ever try to shorten the rear upper/camber link? If You have time, try to move the outer camber link location to #2 or even to #1.

Also, You might try to lenghten Your wheelbase again. Put the inside rear wheel base shim to the front side.

Hope this could help You..

Happy Racing.. :)
