XRAY - Model racing cars

My evo had short on back but it was used, sooo. I'm not sure.As long as you have ride height and some travel in the shock you will be OK probably need different shock and or tower if you want to be perfect but you can get by fine. The freedom of choice shock tower is good. I used that and put extra holes in the area that mounts to the bulkhead with the short shock. remember you dont need that much travel in the shock really. At least on carpet. Downstops are 3 to 6 in the back so it shouldnt be an issue.

I now understand the difference (i think)! The shocks I have are short front with shorter springs than the rear and they are for a fact serpent shocks!

One more thing the shoulder on the top of the shock ? doesn't this stop the use of the multihole rear shock tower OR are the new XRAY shocks different and allow the use of any hole due to this ?

The shock tower TFK actually means the shocks are too long will new xray shocks correct this ... presume they will (don't want to part with more money needlessly)

I think i am going to buy xray shocks if this is all the case p.s. what partnumber do you suggest as i am not sure >? Also which kit of springs do you suggest ?

So am I right in thinking the size front and rear is now more the same and do they have keyed piston rods and such ... ? As i have been very careful and am one of those with out that upgrade

The trick with the multi-hole shock tower was that if you wanted to run shocks that required the upper two rows of holes you needed to use spacers to move the shocks further backwards. Otherwise the shock cap would prevent you mounting it using the upper holes.

The XRay shocks are part# 308300 XRAY Shock Absorber - Set 4-Step (2). You will need to order two as the set contains two complete shocks with white springs. White springs are 17.5Lb. I would also get 14Lb Yellow (308393), 20Lb Light Blue (308385) and 22.5 Lb Blue (308395) at minimum for rubber tyre racing. That's not what I said. I said they are keyed AND you have the option of building the shocks with either adjustable pistons or fixed pistons. Whichever type you prefer they both use the keyed mounting mechanism.
