Sounds like the current debate is between the suspension setup. Should Xray package out the XT8 with the e-clip design or should they include the XB8TQ ISS aluminum parts and perhaps sacrifice tires to keep cost down.

This is pointless.

The decision has already been made and the kits are already in production and shipping. If you want the aluminum suspension pieces, then get the option parts as racers have been doing ever since r/c car racing has existed.
:?

There is nothing wrong will XRAY offering a lower cost kit so that people who don't care about the options can afford it better and people who do care can pay the cost of the options they would have been charged extra anyway if it was included in the kit. Win-win situation.

Taking expirence from the Jammin CRT, I'll say that aluminum arm mounts are way stronger. After all if plastic arm mounts are so strong why doesn't Yannick use them on his XB8?

Marsod, so far we have seen you are not open to any other opinion or maintenance methods other than that of your own...

If you are worried about e-clips, put a dab of shoe goo on them and will not go anywhere!!! It is that simple. Or you can go to your local hardware store, drill some small holes that would allow you to thread some course threaded button head screws in that capture the hinge pins (team associated b4 style) and if you're feeling ambitious, get some WASHERS and put them on the screws!!!

Now a story: There are 3 local guys here in the Dallas area that all came from electric racing and bought XB8R's because their budget is tight... They ran the cars out of the box, and LOVE THEM! These guys are the type that hit EVERYTHING on the track and broke parts on their electric cars that shouldn't break, and if they do break you DEFINITELY hear about it!!! They have had their cars for over a year now, and have not ONCE said anything to me face to face, on this forum or any other forum about eclip problems or plastic suspension blocks breaking. And to restate, these guys have hit walls and sheered off whole front corners of their cars (which I thought was impossible with the XRay, haha) and no broken pin mounts.

OR I can attest the strength of the 352300 by how many we have sold at RC America... I know I shouldn't say anything about sales, but this argument has gone far enough. We can barely keep the XB8R's in stock, but still seem to not be able to sell our composite suspension blocks which have been sitting in the bin for quite the while... If you don't believe that we CAN'T sell them, go to www.stormerhobbies.com www.teamhelotes.com www.bmainhobbies.com and www.amainhobbies.com, get their phone numbers, call them up and ask about their sale records for XRay part #352300...

OK, I'm done...

or 3mm set screws thru the side of the block. Maybe grind a flat on the hinge pin to allow the set screw to bear against it.

Lots of options to work with if you just cant stand the e-clips and the possibility of loosing one.

rocco that is actaully a pretty good idea about making them captured

but like all other cars people just need something to gripe about i am by no means saying that e-clips are the best design in the world i am just saying that they DO work and really arent that big of deal but thats my opinion :? and that you guys just need to get your hands on the truck first before tearing it apart. and IF its built correctly there should be no problems at all
