Hi!

Could someone please guide me in the right direction regarding sealing carbon fibre parts (chassis, top deck, shock towers)? I know that I have to sand the parts and have to use CA glue, but some more detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated...

OK.
The first reason why we need to glue the edges of C/F parts is to minimise the breakage at the edges of the C/F.
Next is step by step on how i personally do it.
1. Take a rough sand paper (150 or 200) and sand the edges of the C/F. The best thing to do is have something small and flat (i.e. Zippo lighter ) and wrap a small piece of sand paper around it.
2. Next step is use a finer sand paper (800 and above) and do it all over again.
3. Wash it clean with some soap water.
4. CA those C/F edges,
It works for me.
Hope it does the same for you.

Do not apply too much CA when ur doing it. A little goes a long way.
Just in case, prepare a cloth or some unuse rag for standby.
Sometimes those CA glue will tend to flow to other unwanted places.
Have something ready to wipe it off.

The best way I have found to apply the CA is with a Q-tip. Pour some CA on a piece of plastic or wax paper. Dip the Q-tip in and wipe off the excess. Try not to get it too dry or it will leave little fibers as you apply it. The fibers are no big deal, once it dries they will rub off. Hope this helps.
