I put a oneway in 2 race event back. I run stock rubber tire and had it recomended. I dont use brakes until the race is over. So I figured I would give it a try. I like the way it performs the track is more technical than open. And I didnt think it was right for that but it Lowered my laptimes. I also Had recomended turning up the the trim for throttle so its almost moving the car at standstill now it flows through the coners much better.

Anyway my problem is this I noticed the plastic blades on my axles had twisted off and were stuck in the outdrives of the oneway. the axels had rotated over one slot and were working but sloppy so I finished the night that way. When I put everything back the outdrives now seem to work out away from the oneway and thier seems to be some binding. Havent run on track yet but it has never done that before.

Anybody have this happen?
And what is the down side of keeping a oneway in for stock carpet?

I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. Any chance you can post a picture?

As to the blades twisting off, I assume the holes had ripped open? The key thing here is to check your blades regularly and replace them if they are worn too badly and especially if the holes are cracked. You can actually hear it when one or more of the blades are broken as the car will produce a resonating sound during acceleration.

I think he is saying that the outdrives on the one way have play in them and they are binding. Mine have quite alot of play in them (side to side) but it doesn't effect it as far as I can tell. I did think it was a bit dodgy though.

I have seen the problem U'r discribing and a guy from Hong-Kong had resolved this by placing an old ahock O-ring in the outdrive cup. The outdrive still rides out a little but it stays much deeper in the oneway.

The blades will eventually wear even if you run a normal diff. But you are right, with the one-way the wear is larger due to the one-way diff acting as a fixed diff under acceleration. Obviously wear will be even worse when running a spool.

The O-ring option will work quite well. Another option is to use the plastic spacers that come with the one-way and go between the one-way diff and the outdrives. Personally I would prefer the O-ring solution to minimize drag off power.

IMHO I think the rubber Oring would work very well. Because if things are a little to tight the Oring can compress or expand as needed. Which should keep it from binding while always pushing the outdrive back in.
