Yes, the front shocks on XB8 EC are now longer but we will not offer new springs, you have to use the standard ones.

Anyone know exactally how much larger the new shocks are? in terms of length and inner diameter? Also what were the dimensions of the old shocks for comparison.

Mario, will we be able to upgrade only to the new chassis while still keeping the original TQ parts i.e. aluminum chassis braces? I know that the handling won't be as good as the EC but would i still be able to do gradual upgrades based on desired performance, or do i have to get the whole pgrade kit itself?

When you want to use only the new chassis than you will need also new central driveshafts (2pcs) and new alu radio plate, than it will works.

With the new chassis coming out in the future, If I am correct, the current Aluminum center diff mount will work without the shims. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanx

Brano, I have a spare set of center universals, can i just use the longer one or are they completely different in lenght?

Here's what I think: since the center diff was moved backwards along with the engine and the distance between the front and rear diff blocks remained the same, the new center universals length should be the mean length of the old ones... Meaning that none of the old universals have a perfect fit in the EC. But I think I understand your point, maybe the longer/rear one will actually fit, even if it sits a bit deeper in the center diff outdrive. It's worth a try.
I wonder how much the engine actually has been moved backwards in the EC model... From pictures, it seems to be less than 10mm, and in theory it should be half the difference in length of the old universals.

hey scotty are you lost?!!! this is the xray board!! lolol I believe the EC will include the 46 spur and medium blue springs ,,,, however with the new big bore shocks there may be a silver spring with a new spring rate ?? just a thought!
