Just got the NT18T and having problems starting it up. Can anyone give me please the setting for the idle screw. Cheers!

When it is the 1st time you ever start a Nitro motor then there could be some problems you have to learn to deal with. One of them is starting the engine.

To start a nitro engine it will help to keep a quarter to half throttle max to fire it up. When the engine wil start you gan let go the throttle.
To pump the fuel to the engine while starting you can put your finger on the exhaust pipe. When not using the glowbattery you can hear the engine rev up on the starterbox as a sign it gets fuel.

When stated up the idle screw has to be set in a way the engine will idle nice on a low rpm without engaging the clutch. There is no "factory setting" for the idle screw, also for adjusting the engine at the LSN and HSN there could be a factory setting but that is not the ideal setting but just a point close to usefull settings to make it start and driveable.

And if it is the 1st time ever, read the manual to run in the engine in the right way before you go to race with it .

Generally when you have your throttle fully closed your idle screw should be set so your carb has a 1-1.5mm opening. This should be enough that it is able to start and stay running without you having to throttle it, but no more. It should not be reving fast - just enough to keep itself alive.

If your having trouble starting up your truck make sure its primed (cover the exhaust and turn the engine over on your starter box for no more than 1 second. If you still cant get it to start you can try my method of unscrewing your glow plug 1-1.5 turns, then turning the engine over until fuel starts to appear from under the glow plug, usually in a spray. When doing this you should of course have the exhaust covered. Once you've done this tighten the glow plug again and it should fire up instantly.

When using the starter box the idea (as far as i'm concerned) is to have your glow booster on the plug and just tap the back of the car down for a split second. Do not hold it down on the starter for more than a second i've found - the starter spins it faster than my engine idles so at times its hard to tell exactly when its burning.

Make sure your high speed needle ( the one sticking up) is also set right or you may not get any fuel/too much fuel. A good point to start is with the screw flush with the sheath its in. Work your way in from there in 1/4 turn increments.
