I've narrowed it down to these two. Are they both from the P5X platform? Which one is the more modified version? I'm confused with each companies description because they have fully modified versions of each engine i.e. Max Power has it labeled as the MX21 M5B MF. What does JP label their fully modified engine as? Can someone please help me with this confusion?

Haven't changed out the rod yet, its still within tolerance. If I was to change it out it would be this one: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_inf ... ts_id/4774

I have a spare "MF" piston/sleeve/rod assembly when it is time to change out.

I believe the differences between the two would be that the "MF" version has a modded crank and sleeve. I dont have a regular version so I cant confirm that. The best bet on answering that would be to call RCAmerica, or maybe one of the members on here who bought a regular M5B could say.

Jason Branham runs the stock M5B and it makes plenty of power. Maybe he can chime in and let you know.

I have been running the stock M5B and it puts out plenty of power, really good bottom and is smooth into the top. Not so much a raw power motor like a V-Spec but is super smooth but still plenty of power when ever you need it. The "MF" is the modded version, the crak shaft and the sleeve have been modded. I have not run one of these yet so if you have a question as to why this would be better then give the guys at RC AMERICA a call they would be more than happy to answer your questions.

The fuel economy of the Vspec is unreal. Many fully sponosered OS drivers lie Chad Bradley, Mark Pavidis and Scott Hughes get a minimum of 10 minutes in ther buggys and 11-12 min in the truggys. It's just crazy. The power is also dead on however they run them @ 250 minumum. If was I fortunate to run a new one @ every race, I would run an OS however I pay for all my engines so I need to consider quality, longevity and performance.

Novarossi all the way...... or Novarossi based.....

I had two V-Spec and did as intrusted per break-in and that junk lasted only 3 gallons. At around $280.00 a pop I can't afford to buy something that just doesn't hold up to normal use.
