XRAY - Model racing cars

Anyone come up with a good process for setting the mesh on the center spur gear and clutch bell.?

Some guys ,, put a paper between the gears... but this doesn't work on the XRay,,, the Xay needs a looser mesh... Maybe using thicker paper ,,, but how thick is my question...

I learned this the hard way... I got may XB8 when it first came out and had not problem with this,,, till I made the mesh a little tighter,, ,, bad move,, should have left it alone.... spur gone, clutch bell gone...

i use a standard 80gms paper and it works fine.

I eyeball it with the fuel tank off (you can look right at the contact areas) making sure there is about 1/2 to 3/4 of tooth contact between bell and spur.
