Just thought i'd post a picture of my NT18MT conversion



I left it dirty for the photo

My upgrades list:
- .11 MotorSaver air filter
- 2x aluminium front shock towers
- 2x aluminium rear shock towers
- 4x threaded aluminium front shocks
- 4x threaded aluminium rear shocks
- chevron tyres all round
- white starburst wheels all round
- extended body posts on one set of front and rear shock towers
- xray alloy diffs (front and rear)
- titanium turn buckles and ball caps all round
- Spektrum Pro receiver (not micro)
- Hitech HS-85MG+ servos

Its not much in the way of upgrades, but its all i can afford for now

The bigger wheels are very harsh on the cvds, especially the front when doing donuts. I had one fall out twice, but found it both times and the front right one shred (as in 50 pieces of plastic) itself when landing a jump with the engine under power (attempting a flip hehe).

I really need some alloy ones, but the Australian distributor wants AUD$42/pair when I can get them from Canada for USD$24.75 (Including postage to AU). However the store is on a holiday until the 19th according to their voice mail. Life's a pain in the arse!

Really neat truck. I've gone part way with starburst wheels and mini-bow ties, but haven't gone to the shocks yet. Which shocks did you use? Also curious about springs: I find the single spring on the rear of the stock 18T allows a lot of sag. Need to add spring spacers to get it anywhere near even. Is yours a shock/spring combo, or sourced separately?

Kant, i've heard the same. I can easily get the atomic ones but people are saying they dont fit terribly well. I just can't find anywhere to get the x-ray ones. Hehe, kant have you tried the bigger air filters yet? 10 tanks = 30-45 mins of run time.

I could buy the aluminum to make around 60 cvd's for the price of a single pair from australia (even though they have no stock at all that i can find here).

Like i said, i can't get them shipped until the 19th from canada, and then around 5 business days to me. Seriously sucks. Can't wait till they arrive though.

I think they're universal shafts crazyfin.

Nice truck mark. makes me feel like I need an nt18mt, might wait until xray come out with it officially tho (save me some $)

Hi to all great brothers here. I'm Gary here from Singapore. I own a NT18T. I do really love to convert my nt18t to nt18mt like our bro Mark Harris.

My problems is, my local hobby shop does not carry any Xray micro stuffs. Therefore most of my items i got it from rcmart but they don't carry any Xray mt tires and they do carry ugly "PINK" starburst wheel!!

Is there any other online web who carry Xray mt wheels and tires? Or any of the monster tire be able to fix the Xray starburst wheel? Please do help me on this to realise my dream of owning a mini nitro monster!! Thanks!!

Yup, they do carry the pink starburst wheel... As for tires, they only have the truck tire, not monster tire.

Will this tire fit nicely into Xray starburst? Or Xray aerodisk? http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/product_i ... s_id=11661

If you get the bigger wheels you *MUST* get alloy CV shafts. Only the xray ones are worth getting. There are titanium ones by other manufacturers too.
