XRAY - Model racing cars

I see that a lot of the US guys are still using the XB8 instead of the TQ. Why is this? I have bought a parts car that is a XB8 and have a XB8 and a TQ already. I have pretty much stock setup on both cars, but I have noticed they drive fairly different than each other. The TQ gets a little better traction, but the XB8 seems to jump better. Now I have different diff fluid in them, 555 in the xb8 and 571 in the TQ so I know that makes a difference also. I am just wondering if I would be better off just making the TQ my parts car and running both XB8's. What would you all do?

First step is to junk the 571 setup in the TQ and start with either 555, 553, or 335. I highly recommend the 335 diff setup but you might want to try the 555 to compare it to your regular XB8.

Now I'm not sure where you see the Team guys running the regular XB8. Most that I know have switched to the TQ.

The wear and tear on the XB8 series of buggy is much lower than normal. Many racers who typically find themselves replacing their old buggies with a 'fresh' buggy every year still found their XB8's in raceable relatively 'fresh' condition at the end of last season and have stuck with them.

Nitro, I will be most likely changing the diffs after I get a race on my home track this weekend to compare it to how my other buggies handle, and that will also let me know exactly how it differs from the 555. This weekend we had a big race at a new track and it was completely different that what we are used to.

Chris, I had never thought of it that way. I bet you are right, but I have still heard people on here say that the XB8 is more suited to US tracks and I was just wondering why they say that.
