Hi all.

Ever since I've had my FK '05 I have suffered from oversteer in one way or another. My current situation is that the weather has warmed up and had to make some changes to my setup to accomodate. I am now suffereing from oversteer on corner entry and high speed oversteer as well.

For the high speed corners I adjusted my front droop to -1 and this seems to have helped a little but now the difference in rear (2) and front (-1) is quite high so not sure if the weight shifting around more is slowing me down. Also my rear shocks have been layed down to the 3rd hole so don't really want to lower anymore in case it's too soft.

For corner entry oversteer I'm a bit lost as I have tried numerous things and can't seem to shake it off.

Can anyone help please. I have posted my latest setup sheet.

Thanks.

S

less rear droop?
stiffer front spring?

Assuming your 'WLRC RND 9-10' setup is the latest, I'd suggest the following:

* Move servo saver to forward position - the rear position gives way too much ackermann effect
* Use yellow springs in the rear or light blue in the front - definitely need softer rear spring bias
* Have one or two holes closed on the front shocks and all - helps the rear ends left/right transition to keep up with the front as the chassis rolls
* Change downstops to 1 (fr) and 2 (rr) - doesn't sound like the problem is here and this is a good balance

You may want to also try these:

* Change diff height to middle position - allows the rear to have more traction AFTER initial corner entry; as long as it is not losing the rear immediately at initial turn-in
* Put 1mm shim under front outer camber link - lower the front roll center slightly

Thanks TeamGP.

I tried the yellow spring in rear on the day and there was way too much traction roll so I think your idea of light blue in front is better.

I will give the rest of you recommendations a try and see how that goes.

Thanks again.

I have blue rear and purple springs front and it handles perfectly (my FK'05, back-up car).

Eyeball,
What track are you running on. I will send a set-up if it is a local one.

Thanks, it's WLRC. Have been running there for a while and sometimes I manage to get a good setup but oversteer has always been the problem I have to eliminate first before any other handling probs.

Cheers,
S
