XRAY - Model racing cars

I have a stock M18T and a Graupner brushless inline330 motor. I haven't run it a lot yet (only two batteries so far)and I haven't had any problems. I'll do a couple of runs more and post my experience here.

Most brushless motors should work fine. Just look for the lower kv versions for a monster truck to retain torque.

If you havent already, you might invest into the with the increased amount of stress this puts on the truck.

@Mini_Me you made me think about which motor to get again. I was gonna go for a 6800kv (the mamba), but you said lover kvs in monster trucks...but i want to speed round too!
so do you think that'd be a gd motor for my requirements or which one would you recommend?

What do you guys think of the speed control?
is it better than the castle creations one or shell i get that one?

Its all really subjective. But If your using a smaller brushless motor (mamba size) I personally would look at the lower KVs. If your looking at the larger brushless motors (300 size) then you can jump up in KVs without sacrificing that torque.

I use the Mamba, it works fine, but what I have found is that you really need the computer link to really take advantage of it. Otherwise some of the other escs like the Tekin which allow you to adjust easily via the esc are great.

I thought you could adjust the mamba esc with the controler?
(my friend told me so)

and which 300 size brushless motors are there?

Ok, so after a couple more batteries I broke my first cvd.
Conclusion: Alu cvd's are a must. At least the front ones. That's where all the crasing is going on.

Let us know how you get on, as I've been thinking about Brushless-ising my M18MT so I'd be interested in knowing which hopups you plumped for to get this working.
