T2 problem with drive shafts

i have just bought the T2 and ran it for the second time last night all was good until i heard a clunking noise from the front end and the car didnt handle well in left corners... :?:

upon investigation i found that the connecting drive pin thats held by the small grub screw at the end of the drive shaft had moved and was rubbing on the inside of the c hub...
even though i had thread locked these all inplace the front left would not stay in positon the pin just keeps moving out and rubbing and sometimes locking the front left wheel up....

HELP i need to get this sorted ready for wednesday as i know the car has some really great potential once i have got used to how responsive it truly is..

i look forward to all and any replies on this any help is better than none :shock:

Well three of us in our club run T2's and we have all had this problem and have replaced the screws, threadlocked them but they still come loose after a while.

The best solution so far to this is to make a flat spot on the bar as suggested. Could xray make bars with cutouts in for this in the middle like they do with the bar that connects the 'C' hub

Still I stay with my opinion that if tightened very good with some threadlock it should work.
And I think the pin has not enough material to make a flat spot without breaking easy.

the key to making lock-tite work is that the screw and the pin have to be CLEAN. if there is a little bit of oil on them, it won't set up right. take some rubbing alcohol and clean the parts really well. make sure they are dry then lock-tite them. this should take care of any problems.
