Im still using my stock ones. Did you degrease and oil them when you got the kit or just run as is? I should point out though that a bearing no matter what will eventually fail. Especially in a off-road environment.

If you want to upgrade, you can get the

hrmmm. two kits, both new, failing bearings during the same race meet.

To get me through the day i had to remove the 'ball cage' out of the bearing to get them to spin again, so i could finish the race meet. This is a bad idea as the centre of the bearing can fall out.. but it got me through for the win!

I think I'll look at some other bearings..

I've had a similiar problem with my m18, one of the wheels had extra resistance and after dissassembling I noticed it was a dead bearing. I didn't clock many runs on it either, but I'm not complaining... the kit is superb and this forces me to go ceramic :P

fairly dusty track, but opening the bearing didnt reveal any dust, more the metal cage inside was just ceased to the bearing's sides.. strange. sort of somehow bent out of shape! just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm a stage champion touring car driver (xray T2 driver) and I'm usually very good with car maintenance...

Ok I think I know whats happening. Especially after you explained how it came apart. You know that loooong machine screw you screw through to hold on the rims? Unless you pretap the hole with a pre threader, all that material inside is pushed outword when you screw that screw through. So you might have noticed the bearings can be difficult to get on and off. This also though is making the bearing inner race slightly under stress as the composite is pushing against it. Thus making the bearing wear out faster.

If you can find a store that sells small tap threaders.. get one for a machine screw 3mm (I think its a 3mm screw? double check). Tap that hole so all that excess material is thrown out, so your bearing should go off and on much easier and last longer.

(that or upgrade the to the )

It was only two bearing that I had a problem with. Two of the 6x10 bearings that go in the rear steering block. I took the metal sheilds off the bearings and they roll smooth as ever

I think the problem with the bearings is the metal shield is getting press against some way an causeing it to touch the inner balls.

I hope something is done about the bearing problem. I think I'm going to up grade mine to boca bearings
