XB8R with brushless (Pics and video inside !)

Hi all !

I'm new here and for my 1st post i'd like to know 2 or 3 things for my project...

I bought a XB8R yesterday on the web and I'm waiting for it during this week. But I'll put a brushless motor on it, not a nitro ! So I'll need to make some changes...

I think the total weight of the XB8R will be about ~ 4.2 kg whith 2x6 GP3300 battery pack, motor w/ESC, servo, etc...

So which brushless must I put on it and which pinion gear ??

Any advices ? Thanks. :wink:

ESC? GP3300? What's all that? I seem to remember something about them from years ago but my memory is a little fuzzy.

ha ha just kidding. It's gonna take a whole lot of modifications to convert the XB8 to electric but good luck.

I know hacker makes a brushless system for the Traxxas EMAXX and that would probably be your best bet. I think it runs on 12-14 cells and has enough power to flip the thing over backwards if you breath on the throttle.

You'll need 32P gears, and again traxxas has those or it may come with the hacker system...

I would also consider li-po's for batteries. There are some guys running electric trucks down around the charlotte nc area using some kind of 9000mah li-po batteries and a brushless motor. They can run 45 min mains and still pull wheelies at the end. I would even mention it if i had not seen it with my own eyes. Food for thought. I am not an electric guy so i don't know who makes the battiers not brand of motor. I can find out though if interested.

www.rc-monster.com carries everything you need. also go to there forums with any questions. many have converted 1/8 buggies.

rc monster mike is a friend of mine. you'll like the end result:-)
definatlly need lipo's and may want to look into marine applications (re water cooling)(water proof) this stuff is getting trick. have fun and show picks.
