XRAY - Model racing cars

Have a look at this setup I ran last year: . With this you should have a lot of steering.

As for some key differences:

- Move the lower mounting of the rear shock to the outside position.
- Use short top link at the front.
- Run Protoform Mazda 6 body or another aggressive body (bodies make a BIG difference)
- Increase the wheelbase (4mm shims in front of arm)
- Switch to a front spool or one-way
- Remove front stands
- Reduce rear toe-in to maybe 2 degrees

Note that all these changes combined will constitute major changes compared to your current setup so together they may change the balance much too far. So one change at a time

i can almost promise you the body was your whole problem. My rule of thumb is, if the car has a handling issue ( in your case pushing ) and you make a change, and it doesnt affect it, then that change wasnt causing the problem. If i tried everything and it didnt help, it is usually because i havnt changed what ever it is causing the problem ( in this case i think its the body ).

You are more than welcome to try Tonyv's setup or any of the other suggestions here, but im willing to bet, if you took your car as it is and changed the body you would be just about were u wanted to be.

I will also try the other suggestions. I am just a little confused Tony said to increase the wheelbase(4mm shims in the front of the arm). You mean widen just the front or all around? And 4mm total. 2mm shims one on each side?

You are confusing track width (distance between lefthand and righthand wheel at the front or rear) with the wheel base (distance between the front and rear wheels). The suggestion I gave was to increase the wheel base, NOT the track width.
