The BRP will be faster. Its a direct drive car, and a heck of alot lighter. However, if this is as rough as you say, the independant suspension and 4wd of the m18 might help it if you cross these strips more than the t-bar and Rwd.

More than anything, it sounds like you need more rear traction if you cant get the brp to aim straight. Traction compound? Softer foams? Harder front foams? Softer t-bar? (Have you checked your tbar tweak?) Loosen the diff a tiny bit (your using the ball diff in the brp right?)

Oh one last thing, the V2 you can fit 4 cells on one side and two on the other? I would do that since you would shift the weight better for oval. The xray would have an advantage here if you made stick/shotgun packs. And have all that weight on the left side.

If you decide on the xray. Use stiffer atomic springs on the outside. Harder front tires, a rear ball diff, and especially which would help on a oval - A front one way. Offset the car so, the outside tires are shifted out, and the inside tires are shifted in. Heck, maybe even use a front tire on the left inside rear. Don't use a super stiff upper brace (Stock fine), as having the chassis flex over these strips will help. Again, 6 cells on the left. Maybe mount your transponder on the left also.

Im not a big fan of oval (Ok, I pretty much hate it), but I have run it enough that the above would help you get a good basis.

Thanks. Yes Im using the ball diff. Home made alum chassis , fiberglass t-bar & alum pod back before BRP made them. Mod slot car motor which hauls. BB everything. Custom 2" wide rear soft foams with traction compound.

The thing just has a mind of its own when the batts are fully charged. Plus I keep burning motors so I wanted to try the United RC Krystal-3 motor which wont fit into my custom rear pod so I was thinking about getting the BRP pro V2 so I could just run that & forget my home made.

Or would the M18 with foams & United RC Krystal-3 accelerate faster than a brp with mod brp motor? This oval track really has no inside corner radius. Its like drag racing around 2 road cones 20' apart on old low carpet.

It would accelerate faster of of the corner, but it wouldnt have the top end (m18).

The corner cones are only 20' apart so I never get to top speed on the track with my brp. In a large open area its scary fast and spins out when I punch it at corner speeds. Requireing me to have the car straight, aimed & ready for small corrections before I do.

Iv learned about another new track near by ,which is a larger road course. Have not seen it but it has lots of corners.

Which ever car I decide on, it will get the United RC Krystal-3 ,tuned speed 300 motor first. If I get the M18 ,a mamba might be used if the car handles the speed 300 ok.

Which kind of track will the M18 beat the BRP if its modified like I described? Bud says the brp will run circles around the M18.

Maybe I will need to get both cars.
