Mario can you help. This happened on the fourth drive pin. Isn't it ment to be hardened steel or something. Don't want to be buying driveshafts after buying this tool. Is this one faulty?

What was the outcome of this? - did you get the tool replaced and if so was the new one better? I'm just curious as i've thought about getting one of these myself. However after seeing these pictures it put me off a bit. Just hoping this is an isolated incident.

Sometimes things just happen. If this was a common thing that would be a different thing but as far as I know it's the first reported case. The instructions on my rc kits say to screw some screws in but every now and then I screw just a little too much and strip the plastic. Sounds like you did something similar with the hammer.

Thanks for your comments evrybody,its always intresting to read what people think.However i ve spent a great time of my working life as a mechanicale fitter and us boys know how to use a hammer cos the only outher tools we have are bigger hammers.Im not really happy that it should be said its my bad luck, this is meant to be hardend steel and it failed simple,i also beleve you cant missalign the pin by the nature of the design of this tool, im not saying the tool is no good, because i think it is by design very good but a part of it failed when it was used in accordance with the instructions,and yes im sorry but i do think the pin should be replaced by outhers, i dont wish to upset anybody by this but this is how i feel about the pins.

i have had the same problem, with the pin breaking. and yes i tried pressing it that was a no no . when my pin broke in the tool it also jammed in it.
here is a solution

when pin breaks in tool if it doesnt some out drill a 1.2mm hole in the other end of it right down the full lenght then you can insert a metal rod of 1mm and push wots left out .next take your 3mmby 17 mm drive pin put it in the dremmel and put heavy sanding paper on it ,turn it down to 2.7mm both ends ,it doesnt have to be exact then buff a flat on one end for the set screw 1 new pin made what i found it needed was that the shaft required heat round the old pin then put it in the extractor slide the other bit in and hit with very large hammer one or twice falls straight out no hasstle im using a 1.5kg hammer if your real unlucky and pin breaks again make a new one .they are so hard thats why the break
i know its not ideal but it works the first 2 shafts i did i broke pins the next 10 came out no problems hope this helps its a great tool just go with the flow
