Ok the whole build was going 100% smooth till i got to the brake pad system seem lke when i mount the brake pad mount the holes line up way crooked wtf. anyone else have this problem. mario anyway someone can help me with this or send me a new plastic mount that holds the pads. see the picture below where the arrow shows how crooked it lines up thus not allowing it to spin freely the brake pads are putting tension on the brake dsic.... damn this is the only thing holding me back!

HERE JUST COUPLE PICS WHERE I AM AT IN BUILD STEP RIGHT AT THE BRAKE PROB....

Hmmmm. irish, yes - that does not look good. Mine is not like that. presuming the holes in the chassis are correct - it must be the holes in the brake pad mounting.

Can you unscrew the one screw under the chassis so the assembly is loose. The straighten it up and mark its position from under the chassis where the hole lines up straight on the brake assembly and just drill a small hole?

I know that is not how you want it long term - but at least that might get you going so brakes are not applied all the time.

Just my $.02

I was afraid you were going to say that.

Could you still line up properly - drill new hole - BUT use a much wider screw?

this picture shows when i screw them in directly....

now this picture shows when i take the one screw out and manually move the mount so its straigh and inline with the brake disc u can see the hole is well off.... no i dont think the chassis is screwed up but something happen in the die molding process when that part was made of mine is the only thing i can tink of!

I saw your post before I started my build and I thought I was having the same problem. The issue is that the disk is not completely sliding all the way in between the pads. I can see that the pads on your car are not fully parallel, which will pinch enough to not let the disk brake completely through. What I did was take an allen wrench the width and slid between the disks to compress the pads a bit. This allowed the disk to slide completely through. I also removed the engine before trying to put the brakes on. It is easier to bring the disk forward on the shaft, slide the assembly over the disk, then slide everything back so the disk lines up to the shaft correctly.

Irish, when I assembled my NT18, like you, I had the problem with the bracket alignment. However I then re-read the manual and on inspection I realised I had got the composite collar round the wrong way just as Mario has detailed. Having put the collar on the shaft in the correct orientation the bracket lined up perfectly!

I blame my haste to get the car assembled for my error!.
