Depending on how you want to look at it..fortunately or unfortunately, the team at Xray have been burning the midnight oil inorder to get this kit, the T2 and spare, the M18MT, M18RTR, as well as the products scheduled for showing/release at the Nuremburg toy fair ready all at the same time with limited resources.

You'll notice that Mario and his team have not been as active on the forum as of late as they usually are, and when Mario does post it is most often late in the evening.

Many manufacturers don't even have this type of forum for the public to question delays and complain.

Rest assured that they are doing everything they can to get the product to market. Each delay is costing them sales and costing them money as they sit on their costs of investment without seeing any return.

As for your EBGames/360 reference, I still recall just prior to the release some stores complaining that they would only be receiving 'half' of their previously mentioned allotment...this is rather common when you're dealing with third party suppliers for critical components.
