i have raced nothing but xray touring cars for 3 years and have never been disapointed, finishing top 2 in about 95% of the races i go to, highly praising the fine cars that i run, but when people come up to me and say "why are you not running your t2" and all i can say is that "i cannot get parts to fix it", people say "well i am sure glad i don't have one."

i understand that kits were pushed out quickly and that each person that has a kit will most likely need 5 or 6 spares of the parts that break most often, but there should still be some spares starting to trickle into the market and there is not. what good is the best car in the world when it sits broken on the shelf.

If I run 26mm front nitro foams will this clear up the rubbing issue with 28mm foams? This would save me from having to cut the rims.

i have found the if you use the supplied bellville washers on the front, 2 each side, between the wheel and the hex, you gain enough clearance to run.

I don't get it, i can run parma 28 mm foams on my car without rubbing issiues, although, didn't notice any.. have about a millimeter play on front hub, should be enough, ran it also with my trf415 (that car is a pain already with 26mm :P )

What am i doing right..or?

thinking you can shim out the wheels and have a ring less on the bulkhead.. should do the job?

The car was great this weekend. Running back to back with a well tuned FK05; the T2 was better in sections of the track. The car was excellent for great runs in 19T and mod.

I did find some tire rub on the rear shock ends as well with both CS and RP wheels (24mm rubber).

At present, I am already at 190mm at rear. That would not allow me widen the car at the wheel hex with using wheel hex spacers as Tamiya offers.

I am going to try narrowing the spacers at the lower suspension mounts by -.5mm. (at both front and rear of the mounts so I can maintain the rear toe ). This might allow me to use .5mm spacers at the wheel hex to relieve any rub that might occur at the shock end.

superxray - i agree that shimming out the front wheels of the car changes the track of the car, but is is much easier to do than having to cut down tires. especially if you break a wheel and need to throw on a new set in a pinch. it is my opinion that xray should release a new steering knuckle for the percentage of people who run foams. as for the rubbing in the rear, this is a common trait with all xray cars, and i have decided that even though there is on outter hole in the suspension arm, it is not usable (unless you want to constantly changes shock ends), and not a viable setup option. move the rear shock to the inner hole and work on setup from there.

eric - the parma wheels may have a different offset than the jaco's.

We got the T2 the day Mirage released them to the UK, we knew the parts would be in short supply to start with, we've kept the "05 kit" in case of any major breakdowns.
You make the choice buy early and possibly suffer with shortages or let other people run the car, let the spares stock build up and then buy it.
How many racers will be reading this forum thinking "I'd just like to buy the kit never mind the spares!". We're the lucky ones.

By the way absolutley AWESOME car a major step up from the T1 range.
