XRAY - Model racing cars

Hi all,

Im Daniel, this is my first post to the Xray forum.

I recently got myself an XB8R, and Im about to purhcase a rc radio transmitter as well.
As Im left-handed and have, I believe, leveled beyond the Hitec quality, it leaves me with very few choices; Futaba 3pk and Sanwa/Airtronics m11, as far as I know.

Is any1 superior in terms of build, precision, features, compatible servos etc? You got any other recommendations?

The Nomadio Sensor can be switched for left hand use. It's great, it is fully programable from your PC via usb. It is 2.4ghz, and it is the fastest radio yet.

Nomad = fastest -> What is the respons time of the Nomadio system?

Normal 2.4GHz (Spektrum) has a very slow respons time versus an normal PPM system - and even less vs an 3PK HRS...

Normal Spektrum has about 5.6 mS - Normal HRS is using 2mS I think. Thats almost 3 times slower, not faster.

I tried to look into some real info on their website but could find hardly any specs at all... Is there any other good links to their tech-specs?

That's not actually true. Normal Spektrum is faster than PPM and HRS mode.

The Nomadio and the Spektrum DX3 are virtually equal in speed and they are the fastest.

But if you use a Spektrum equipped PPM radio like a M8 or Futaba 3pk, it will be slower than regular PPM.

many people don't realize that the Spektrum DX3 is actually faster than the M8, M11, and 3pk. The reason being is that the DX3 (like the Nomadio) is all digital while the others are analog and even if you add a Spektrum system to the analog radios there is still a slight delay as the signal is converted from analog to digital or vice versa.


With that being said, it's quite hard to tell a difference between any of them in actual use. You're talking a couple of miliseconds worth of a response time difference from the fastest to the slowest.

I have a brand new still in the box Airtronics M8 radio I am offering for sale cheaper than you will find them anywhere in a store. I bought it for backup but now that I'm in the market for an XB8 it has got to go.
