XRAY - Model racing cars

I am new here and LOVE my '05 so no one take this the wrong way.
My concern is parts availability. Since the T2 shares very little in common with the '05 in the parts deptartment ( I am told), how is this going to affect the parts selection at my LHS? Parts are scarce around here already and now we have a new car to stock for as well.

Like I said, don't take it wrong, I haven't owned an ORC that was this easy to tune and drive but since I just layed out over $300 smackers for it, I am not in any way ready to sell it and get the new latest and greatest.

Parts should still be stocked in accordance with demand...

There are enough FK and FK05 cars out in circulation right now that there should be a good parts supply coming in for some time in order to maintain them...

As the number of T2's increases, and previous generation cars decrease, it's only logical to expect the level of spares on the shelves to adjust themselves accordingly...

Welcom in the Xray family. All Xray drivers wil help you at this forum. Just wait till you have the car en enjoy building it. I drive Xray from the very first T1 (with toolset and setupboard) till the FK05, and I can tell you one thing every new car is better than the previous one. The only problem I ever had with my Xray was the small bearing in the diff, but that is replaced for free by Xray! I can't hardly wait to start building the T2 because the fun start at the moment you build this piece of art!

I started this post just over 2 weeks ago an it has grown beyond what I ever expected, when I first started asking the question about the then thought to be 06 model people said look to April time to see one. The reason I asked the question in the first place is that when I bought my T1FK in Noveber last year the 05 came out a few weeks later, so goes to show my and Xray's timing are nearly spot on.

The new T2 looks amazing, shades of 415MSX and Yok BD, I was going to order the 05 a few days after I posted but glad I held back.

I have run the FK with a front oneway diff for most of the time I have raced indoors on carpet and I find it ok, a lot of more experianced drivers have told me to change it to a ball diff but I was happy with the way the car was performing, a few people have tried the my FK with the oneway and were suprised how good it realy is on carpet, if you race in a small hall at club level it has the advantage of keeping the car tight to corners with turnin that will put most to shame.

My trusty FK is going to a new home Sunday to make way for the T2 in the 12 months that I have owned the car the only thing I ever broke was a shock rod end but that was from running soft 26mm with the shocks on the outer hole on the wishbones, I have never had to top the shocks up, greese the diff's or change the belts.

The T1FK has been a real credit to Xray and the engineering exilance of HUDY has made the past 12 months one of the most enjoyable in regards to racing.

Well....as much as I love the sight of the new T2 I will not be buying one.
I bought my 05 about 4 months ago and I've just started to get used to it, with a good setup and some knowledge on how the car geometry works.

No doubt that it's an improvement to the 05 both in design and performance, but as it is a new platform and most parts are designed from scratch there will be some niggling issues which will need sorting out and I'm not prepared to spend so much money on hop-ups after doing mine up to the hilt. So I'll just wait for the next car.......sad but true.
