I left the front of my chassis unrounded.....and I hit lots of stuff....at a pretty good clip too I might add...not saying that's what did it...but the extra materialthere may help?

I have found not rounding the edges of the chassis increases the risk of delaminating the carbon fiber. I guess it what ever works for you best

I round all of the edges to protect against delamination...except for the front edge, where it is shielded by the bumper mount

I run on the same track as ChrisP, and I have hit some walls running mod 8x1, and stock at full throttle, and can not see a way for that to happen unless your track is made out of 2x4 walls. That just looks horrible in that picture. I also never sanded the front edge on my chassis, and it seems to work really well. Make sure those 3 front screws are always kept tight because if they are loose they can get the extra leverage to pull through the chassis like that. Even if one screw is loose it could cause all of them to rip out no matter what the track walls are made of.

2 by 4 covered in plastic and bolted to the floor. Not very forgiving    not to mention very very tight

Thanks for the pictures... thats exactly what I'm talking about... no wonder why stock racing is so popular in the US.

Those tracks are crazy... you need the extra traction of foam tires, the average clubracer would just demolish the car with rubber tires.

The track I used to race on (just closed recently  ) was an unusual big one 30m x 15m (100ft x 50ft). But none of the indoor tracks in our area is even close to that size.

Hey Chris,

ya TORC got better before they closed but awhile back it was very tight... IMO anyways. Not as bad as the one shown above (not kingsville, the other one) but still it was pretty tight some times. They used to change the layout weekly so obviously it would change but there were sometime that it was horrible I thought.

I never made it to FastCats before I moved down here but it looked like an awesome track from the pictures I saw.
