XRAY - Model racing cars

Sorry if i am going off topic a bit, but why are 1/12 scale pan cars so fast? At my loacal club, theyre quick as anything, they sometimes race with mardave v12's, and even if the car races the same motor as the v12's, the pan cars are loads faster? They look quite funny aswell in the modified class. Someone has a 8x1 turn motor in his Corally SP12M, which he races with 1/10 modified aswell......it looks sooooo funny. Maybe you, XRAY, should consider making one? I cant imagine they're expensive to make, because, as i have said in another forum (about 1/18 cars) theres not as much materials used compared to making 1/10, and 1/8 scale models.

By the way (this question is for anyone), is it worth it if i swap my yokomo SD SSG with loads of hop-ups and spares for an XRAY T1FK'05 chassis? (By the way, the Yokomo is just the chassis aswell).

1/12 pan cars are run with foam tires and also much lighter than 1/10 cars. Foam tires give plenty of grip compared to rubber tires. I run both classes in high level in modified and my laptimes in touring car with rubber tires are about 0.7-0.9s slower than with my 1/12 car. With foam touring lap times are competitive with 1/12 ones, usually equal or even faster when it comes to experienced driver.

Well, the condition of my yokomo is unused, i have used it once indoors since new (hardly a mark on chassis), the XRAY is in used condition. And the info on the pan cars helped, i might consider getting one .

Are you saying that you run a 19t in the 27 class?
