XRAY - Model racing cars

i have assembled my shocks and notice it didnt look right is this o-ring ment to be there? it seems to do nothing in that spot or did i put it in the wrong place? if not where should it go?

The o-ring should fit inside the hollowed out portion of the threaded aluminum top spring collar that is currently just below the o-ring in your picture. This helps to keep the spring collar from moving out of its position on the shock body threads, due to vibration.

Unfortunately...yes.

just take spring off and then turn shock over, remove bottom bit then take shock coller off.
