The reason I ask is my rear diff has an angle similar to this / when looking at the car from the rear. It's not quite that extreme but does the diff tilt or does it run straight up and down? Thanks

Which car have you got? (t1r, fk'05, fk'04, e.t.c.)

All Xrays have the diff vertical - there is some side to side slop (1mm?) but that's all. I suspect 1 ball came out of it's hole when you screwed it together. Remove the diff and take it apart slowly and carefully. If you have a ball out, throw it away and replace, it's trashed.

I took the rear end apart, and the tilt is hardly noticeable when it's not screwed to the chassis, but once I start to secure the aluminum bulks to the chassis it gets worse????

Try rebuilding the diff totally, cleaning every part of it gently, remove bearings from bulks, clean the bearing, clean the inner bit of the bulk, (the ring that the bearings fit in to), replace and try then....let me know how u get on :D

Well perhaps I should have checked the height adjusters, I didn't realize during assembly that there were two different sizes so that turned out to be the problem. One was larger and one was thinner.

Does anyone know what characteristics the two different sizez will give you. I will be racing on the carpet with several turns and one straight away roughly 70' long?

LOL, so it wasn't the diff then!

I'm suprised the car handled at all well with different diff adjusters in...go to 2 the same and things will get even better!
