What sort of pinion size would you be using then for top competition with a trinity monster 27t? I have currently gone as far as a 27 tooth pinion with a 93 tooth spur but am still a fraction of the pace due to speed. Any suggestions?

I got the low ratio pulley set and tried it at the weekend at the Schumacher winter series at West Bridgeford. It was ok and managed to qualify 5th and finish 5th in the final but still the speed was not as quick as 1st and 2nd place cars. I was geared on a 24 pinion and 93 spur givin a ratio of 6.86. I tried to go up a pinion to 25 but this made the car slower and feel like it was overgeared. For me to gear it between 6 and 5.3 like you say, i would have to be using like a 28 tooth pinion! If the car felt overgeared and slower with a 25 then I dont know what a 28 will do to it!!??? Should I just go for it and try it out? What do you suggest?

My motor gets skimmed, cleaned and new brushes after every meeting so I dont think it is that. Also it is a fixed timing endbell so it is nothing to do with the timing. The car is nearly brand new and also gets stripped down and cleaned etc after every meeting so it is not the front bearings.

What is a Temp gun?

They are not much faster on the straight. Just accelaration between the corners which I loose if I gear any higher.
