XRAY - Model racing cars

I am having a problem with my FK'05 Intermittently steering left or right. What the car would do is lock either right or left at different parts of the track and run into the boards. This would happen at different parts of the track at different times. I have switched out all my electronics trying to solve this problem but I have not been able to figure it out. I am using an Airtronics 357 servo, Spectrum system in a 3PK, and Quantum 2 speed controller. I am curious if it could be the multi diff? How do I know if the one way is bad. The wierd part about it is that when the car hits the board I would be able to control it again with out any problems. I saw an article in Xtreme Rc magazine page 198, but the guy in that article is using an FK'04. Can someone please help me out?

aparently that is only needed with the QC2...all other esc's are fine (so im told)

I was using a power cap when this happened. I even tried using a different receiver that was in a different car that was working.

Have you already tried a different speed controller?

I will be picking one up tonight and will try it out on friday. I have tried a different esc but I used a different Quantum 2 and the same problem. I will try be trying a GTX.

I forgot to mention that I was also running a personal transponder. I have read some problems with the Quantum 2 with that so I will try the GTX and see what happens.

Other things to check.

Bad servo's can cause feedback in the system that act like a glitch.

Motors with bad or burned out capacitors (the ones on the circuit board and such) can cause interference.

A chrystal going bad.

Just some more ideas.

I took out the quantum 2 and put in a GTX and it seemed to solve the problem. No more glitching. Thanks for all your help.

I'm runniong a personal transpoonder, quantum comp. 2 and a KO servo with no such problems.
