Hey guys just wondering about xb8 parts compatability with other companies.. e.g mugen, kyosho, HoaBao etc etc..

Parts like ackerman, springs, steering plate and any other parts on the xb8 that is compatable with other companies.. you know.. try another company stuff out without having to actually buy their buggy

Thanks

I agree, I though it was the other way around.

Hmmm...I have two XB8's, one is right out of the box and built, never run. My runner has 5+ gallons on the car, yet I feel negligable if ANY difference in the play between the two cars. I think your claim is bogus.

I think that a lot of the variances in wear and tear on buggies (not just XRay) comes from setup and how it is used. If something has a little too much play in it right from the start (ie. not shimmed right, sanded down a little too much, etc) then it will exponentially accelate wear on it. Also if you use your RC in a sandy sort of area (even dirt with a bit higher sand percentage) you are really going to wear it out fast!

I know my EVO2 was about 2 years old when I bought it and it felt as tight and smooth as a brand new one...

i have replaced the rear ball joints in both our cars a couple of times the last time i replaces the pivot balls as well this took all the slap out completly on previous occassions after replacing the ball joints there was still a little play BUT!!! there is over 10 gallons of fuel through my sons and 12 through mine so i think they deserved it lesser cars would have needed put in the pit box before now for bits ....and ours are still running well

i carry quit a few spare parts(don't use them)
but this weekend I lost a wheel nut (no spare) luckly I know which other companys wheel nuts will work i was able to keep racing
but as soon as I got back to my lhs i got a spare set of xray nuts

I don't think they would fit as with the specific spacing needed between the upper and lower mount screws you would need them to align perfectly then on top of that the upper section would need to match up for the wing mounting portion. I understand bling but for a 1/8th buggy it is best to have some flex there especially since the wing mount can sometimes be the difference between a broken or bent rear shock tower and the win.
Xray's parts fit and finish are by far the best I have seen in the off road buggies. I have worn out a set of rear pivot balls......... after 9 + gallons of fuel but the car itself is lasting quite nice and I only changed the plastics after 8 gallons of fuel to make it fresh, (didn't have any rear pivots when I went to do that tho).
