The one thing I fear is the dreaded new model upgrade just like what kyosho does to their buggies every 30 min. (just kidding). Can you please make the xb8 compatible or even be able to accept conversions if you decide to go into an XB8.5 or XB9 model in the future. I know this class has alot of competition and I understand the reason for upgrades. I just though it would be nice for XRAY to think of it's current XB8 owners in the future so as to not make them feel left out in the scene and just buy the upgrade options to keep in the race.

I couldn't agree more. Mugen are exactly the same. They bring out a new model, then a couple of months down the line discontinue all production of the older model, including spares, with virtually no cross over between models. Hopefully xray won't make the same mistake. Brand loyalty should be rewarded.

how is mugen the same? they haven't released a new car in 3 years. But I disagree with the compatability thing-somewhat. I don't care if they make a completley new car in a year or two-thats how companies make money but if they were to be like kyosho and release a new car every 6 months i would like compatability. The one thing i do have to say about kyosho (i don't like them in general-too pricey for the quality) is that they always win. I think that is partly due to the fact that they release a new car often. I just wish the xray was more popular like the k-car so we would be winning more races!

If the change is for the better, I dont mind getting a whole new car overal. Whatever needs to be done to keep up with times and changing competition. THats the name of the game we play :D

The problem has been mentioned, but it's not because of compatability, it's just because when these companies come out with a new model they often have to close down the machines that made the old to allow room for the machines that make the new, so in time the spares dry up and you model becomes obsolete. Kyoshos 7.5 range though was only small steps at a time as they revised it over time. Most parts were compatible from the RTR through to the K3, then the 777 arrived, a new model on a similar platform, but it was a new range of model and so compatability wasn't really required. Think of it as in the 1:1 world, would you really want to be repairing your Mondeo with parts from a model T?

Things progress and to allow this, things must change.
