I have a question

to expand clutchbearing life woundn't it be a good idea running-in the engines first tanks idling, without the bell/shoes/bearings just the flywheel on

that way more than half of the clutchbearing life could be safed
or is this not so good for the engine, running it without any resistance at all ...?????????????

in my opinion an engine needs a load on it while run in ....i made a roller frame ..tubular steel rolling on another bit for each wheel to sit on. start the engine run it at 1/3 throttle extreamly rich making a real 4 stroke sound......the engine is pulling a load from the wheels on the frame 5 tanks like this then 2 leaning off while driving it and then tune it ....so far any engine done like this has produced good power for what it is and as for clutch bell bearing every race we replace em and if its a 45 min main replace before it starts ( thank goodness for the newer engine mount it made life so much easier)
