If the carpet is decent then the traction should be pretty high, even for rubbers. For the standard springs I would suggest mounting the front shocks on the outermost hole and the rear shocks one hole in and maybe close one or two holes on all four pistons. A high roll center in the front and/or rear might be in order as well.
I tried running a spool with rubbers on carpet last week and the front tires fought each other too much and the car scrubbed a lot of speed in the corners. This happened with CS 27's and 32's all the way around. I'd suggest either a one way or a diff set to medium/tight if you prefer to use the brakes.
