Ron, the tighter the diff, the greater the resistance to turn in the car has, it is less stable under brakes. It works the other way on corner exit, you get slightly more power on steering.
If the diff was relativly loose the car should (all other bits being Ok) turn in very well but would be more unstable on the brakes. The car may understeer more on corner exit.
I had a schumacher kit years ago that handled like a ***. It wasnt until one of the works drivers picked it up and fiddled with that we spotted the rear diff was tighter than the front. I had the highest finnish of the year after it wa adjusted to how it should be.
You may be surprised as to how loose the rear diff can be and still work effectivly. When usin a diff front and rear the front diff should always be either tighter than the rear or be about the same. you shouldnt have the front diff looser than the rear as this gives you understeer and you would be better off running a one way..
