XRAY - Model racing cars

Has anyone had the problem of torque steering with their T1 FK '05? When I ran a 19turn motor it was not too bad and hardly noticeable. If I put my 10T or 9T in it would make the car jump to the left if I hit the throttle hard. The car handles great except for this.

i cant imagine how this should happen with a belt car...the torque of the motor goes front and/or rear, but not to the side....your sure you dont have a prob with a dead bearing or so? or the servo has a defect perhaps...

Right, torque steer is non-existant on a belt drive car such as the XRAY. All rotation is along the front-to-rear axis.

Oh but it is existent! Everytime I came off the corner, into the straight and punched it, the car would drift to the left drastically. It was not a steering or servo issue either. Only happened when I would get on the throttle mid way to full. The car handled great other than this little problem.

Ok, I discovered what th problem was. I have been trying to figure out what could be causing this little problem and think I have it. I made a run after taking off the front sway bar, and guess what? No more torque steer to the left. Not quite sure why the sway bar was causing the front left to load up and pull this way on throttle, but it is gone. I checked the bar prior to taking it off and both sides were equal and the bar does not appear to be bent. Figured I would post this in case someone else runs ito it in the future.

I was under the same thought as you guys that the way the motor and belts are setup that you would just get back and front chasis travel under throttle. For some reason it was kicking it to the left.

Try this:

* Put the front anti-roll bar back on
* Remove the front shocks
* Lift up one wheel and see how far it lifts until the other arm starts lifting
* Lift the other wheel and see if its counterpart lifts about the same time, or immediately.

I've found that I had to unscrew the two links on one side of the anti-roll bar one to two full turns (making it longer than the other side) in order to get both wheels to lift at the same time in relation to one another. Although the anti-roll bar itself seemed flat on the setup board, the tension & slop was greater on one side than the other.
