XRAY - Model racing cars

Alot of good info was brought up in here... lets keep it that way..

Please guys if you dont have anything to add dont post. We are all here to help one another and work twards making the XB8 n even better car... Its just annoying reading through posts that arent even on topic with the thread.. Remeber posting here is a privelege not a right.


Everyone so far had some good comments.. all I can add is give yourself some time to familiarize yourself with the car(atleast 2-3 months). If its not producing right out of the box then we need to make some small setup changes. Dont just change your driving. This car has a ton of adjustment and can me made to work for anyone. Just remember to take small adjustments and take some notes.

There is a wealth of info that can be untapped here on this forum. We are lucky to have people like Jesse Robbers, David Joor and Mario Hudy that frequent the forums. The more the merrier and the better we can make all of our cars. Lets just put it to good use as much as we can. One can never had too much information.

Xray is doing a great job helping local racers out at the races. Team drivers are willing to let you pick there brain. Once again there is a time and place for everything... Just use good judgement when approaching them...

Wow, Thanks for all the Great Info guys!.. It clears alot up. I'm going to ship my chassis out and take my time enjoying the build. I'll let you guys know how things progress. Thanks again!

georgi, I used to run my that way till my clutch bell ate the fuel line once.
now I run them up and run the pressure line parallel to the fuel line just so they will never "meet" the clutch bell again.

This is how I have my car routed for the fuel line. And before I get any question yes that is a OS RG. The buggy is plenty fast on the smaller local track with the RG. The Xray transfers power very efficiently with its low weight and free drivetrain. I have no need to run anything more than a P5. I get good runtimes (8 minutes)and the car is still quick with the $100 wonder of a motor.

We have another Xray racer here who is using the new "budget" Novarossi 3 port motor with great success. I am getting a Kingheadz head for the RG so I can run it a tad cooler with a little more power. Right now with it in the high 90's at night when we race it temps at around 240 at the end of a run.

So far zero issues with anything on the fuel line and I have always ran my lines around the head of the motor with no problems.
