Especially when running outdoor, it is recommended to use tire warmers to get the additive soak better to the rubber tires.

I usually use TC2 or Orion red, depends on whatkind of carpet I am running. With right aditive you can win or loose many tenths of second. Outdoor tracks tyre tweak 2000 is the mostly used additive but I also use LRP asphalt and carpet additives depending on eather and track surface.

CS has high and medium grip additives from which I prefer medium.

WD40 is usable at asphalt in some conditions.

And off course there are plenty of mixes of these and other additives.

I have regularly used motor cleaner before applying my additives. I find that it not only cleans off the debris well, but it also seems to "open up" the rubber so the additive can soak on better. Even without the additive the tire feels softer and more grippy (nice) without feeling tacky (good for picking up dust and not much else!)

Indoors I use Jack the Gripper once the motor spray has evaporated. I run either treaded tires and slicks (depending on club rules) and usually get 4-6 meetings per set of rubber. Outdoors I have used both Jack and Tire Tweek, but I have only raced outdoors once.....

Saying all that though, my HLS ran out of motor spray last week. I had to resort to using "Halfords" brake and cluch cleaner from my local motor spares shop. It actually seems to work better - it is a little thicker than motor spray and does not evaporate so fast. It also seems to make the rubber softer too. Not sure how long my tires will stand up to this though - time will tell....

i know that you can use motor cleaner on your tyres all it does is make them sticky i think you have got to try and find the right one though as some motor cleaners make the tyres stickyer than others but can also over heat them as well which you dont want oh by the way i am not talking from experience here it is just some info that i have heard others talk about
