Im interested in both xb8 and xb8R versions and would like to know specific differances between the two kits. A part matrix break down of every part that is differant will help me deside.

Try going to the website and checking uner description and specs of each vehicle. Off hand I can tell you the XB8R has e-clips and the XB8 doesn't. The XB8 has all anodized aluminum and the R doesn't. The XB* has aluminum braces, the R has composite plastic. Much more, that I cant remember. Like I said , look under the specs and description on the site and compare the two..

Some of them:

XB8R:

-no black anodized parts
-no cnc-lightening in shock towers
-no profitools
-no receiver pack
-different drivetrain
-blue carbonfiber
-plastic center dif topplate
-plastic bodystiffeners
-plastic wing posts
-soft lowarms
-plastic adjusting blocks

Main parts such as:
-chassis
-diffs
-shocks
Are same

I think XB8R is bit softer and also with new soft arms its easier to drive and get used to. XB8 isn't as forgiving, but top competition machine. Hope you get my point. Whatever your choice is I think you wont be dissapointed. XB8R quality is just as good - cheaper price comes from little things (anodizing, black/white manual, plastic parts etc.). Upgrading it to XB8 is very possible! (-if you need to)

Most parts are same whatsoever and thats why I bought XB8R for spares. On track i can change diff setups very fast and same with shocks aswell. Also got new chassis with extra hole...

You missed driveshafts off there.

XB8 - Universal shafts - Output is bumpy.

XB8R - Constant Velocity Driveshafts - Output is smooth.

It may come to the same price, but if you bought an XB8 you'd still want to get the one piece engine mount as it's not included in the kit.

The XB8R is softer car overall and thus is easier to drive and a bit more forgiving than the XB8.

The XB8 is very sharp and more sensitive to the set-up but that is competetive advantage for the expert drivers.

Thanx mario so the xb8r would suit the novice more than the xb8...

Just thought you might like to know that Custom Model Cars in Sydney have both in stock, no matter which one you choose you will be happy, are you planning to race in WA if so which track?

Yes I know the club, they had the Nationals there earlier this year, we just held the NSW State Titles over on grass with man made jumps so it would be very similar to your track.

I have posted a setup on here called 2005 NSW State Titles, when you get your XB8 try it out, I think you will like it.

I am not sure of the exact price call Custom Model Cars, let them know I gave you the number (02) 95794007, speak to Darrin or Stewart, Custom Model Cars are the importer of Xray products.
