Tony, with rear anti-squat I know that you would get more on power steering because of less weight transfer to the front but off power would you get more weight transfer to the front because the chassis is moving up in the rear. In other words do the angled hinge pins inhibit motion in one direction and promote it in the other direction ?
I've ordered a muti-diff and I'm trying to think of how I can get more steering with a spool.
Thanks for your time.

Actually the reason you will have more steering out of the corner is that anti-squat REDUCES weight transfer towards the rear under power. It prevents the rear from "squating". Depending on the circumstances it will also make the rear have more traction on power as both rear wheels will stay in contact with the track surface (less rear chassis roll).

Off power anti-squat indeed the rear will move upwards easier increasing weight transfer towards the front. This is why quite often anti-squat does not work quite the way people expect it to. If the car already loses rear traction going into the corner it will be unstable accelerating out. I.e. anti-squat can actually make the rear even more unstable than it was without it.

Tony,

As stated above, I'm in the process of trying to dial in a setup that includes both 1.5d anti-dive and 1.5d anti-squat in order to prove or disprove a theory I'm working on. (all, feel free to call me crazy if you like  ). I was able to do some testing yesterday and my setup ended up like this:

http://www.teamxray.com/xforum/xform/in ... tup=t1fk05

I originally had -1.75d camber and -2.0d toe in the rear & 1.5mm shims under the front outer camber link. The car worked really well and was extremely fast through the corners, but it would oversteer a bit when powering out of corners. As long as I didn't hit the gas too early I was fine. But if I became aggressive and passed someone in the first corner of a double apex, and tried to hold onto the position by flooring the throttle in between the apex's, I would sometimes end up clipping the second apex too hard or letting off the gas and swinging out too wide. Most of the oversteer seemed to be coming from the rear swinging around, but the front was definitely glued to the track. Looking at the tires, I was wearing the insides of the front and rears slightly as well. Once I removed the shims from the front camber link (to slightly reduce camber gain and wear the tires evenly) and changed to -1.5d camber and -2.5d toe in the rear (for a larger contact patch for the increased toe to grab), the rear became hooked and the front wasn't so twitchy, but it still had too much on-power traction and the problem reduced from very annoying to a slight nuisance.

I've already tried to lighten the front as much as possible, but the weight differential is still +40 grams towards the front, which I believe is why the front has so much traction on the gas. Here's my thought on what to test this Thursday in order to remove some on-power steering without upsetting the handling on corner entry and mid corner too much:

* Go to minimum wheel base to swing some weight from front to rear for more balance
* Switch to harder compound front tire (trying not to since it'll cost me  )

What would you try?
