The latest reports from all team drivers and customers is that the new Lightweight 1.7g alu clutch shoes are AWESOME. We strongly suggest and recommend to try those.

I used the new 1.7g shoes for the Main final of the NSW State Titles this weekend, 45 minute final and hardly any wear showing on the shoes, power delivery was AWESOME from start to finish.

I have posted these images so you can see how little wear there is, I hope these pics are clear for all.

I don't know which is your best setting of the engine; but the clutch had to be coupled with it. During this years I test several solution and I think that carbon shoes could be useful. The new lighter one was excellent but some kind of tracks needed different answer from the engine. I use sometimes one piece in aluminum and two pieces in carbon fiber: try it. It's unbelevieble how much different traction you have under your trigger. You could gain something else chancing the spring: 0.9 on aluminium shoes and 1.0 on carbon ones... Or the opposite... With this kind of clutch setting, after few tests, you could have the best solution for all the surfaces: slippery, bumpy, flat, grass and so on... Enjoy it.

well i raced them this weekend...

i guess im very pleased with them, i say guess cus it felt like the other black shoes.... very easy to drive, i could ease onto the gas. and set a new qual record for that track....

now i hope these are somewhat affordable.

Great to see there are some lightweight shoes available now. I have been using the Kyosho kanai clutch assembly, as my RBWS7 doesn't like the stock Xray shoes. I tried 1mm springs and drilling them out, but the bottom end sucked.

I must admit that the Kyosho shoes do burr up quickly, yes a small chamfer helps but it's still regular clutch checks. Not a bad thing I suppose.

I will definately be giving these babys a go, well just as soon as the 3 sets I have just got off ebay have worn out. oops

:)

Yeah I gave up on my WS72 with xray shoes peroid.

But I must say I just got in a set of the 1.71 lightened shoes (I may be the first one in the U.S. with them)(I got my connects from out of the country) And they are absolutely perfect. I slapped them on this morning and went to the closest thing that resembles a track near my house(one of my consturction sites) and got to it. Very snappy , just what I was looking for. After last weekend I was ready to modify my Xray shoes on my B5, but just got these in. I must admit the standard Xray shoes seem to be heavier than the standard Kysoho and Mugen shoes, so I was going to lighten them to get the best performance out of my B5 as it was lagging a little. So I am in the midst of testing the new lightened shoes and I m already immpressed with what I have expierienced. We'll have to see how they perform on a groomed track the weekend after next. I do have great faith in them though as they are MUCH lighter than the stockers.
